General Business:

1.   Approve minutes for meetings held August 28, 2019.

2.     Monthly Review Items:

            a. Action on bookkeeper’s Income Statement – August and September  2019.

            b. Action on Bookkeeper’s Balance Sheet –August and September 2019.

            c. Bookkeeper’s Disbursement Report – August and September 2019.

           d. Bookkeeper’s ongoing Donation Report, August and September 2019.  

           e. Action on Staff Report:

October 17, 2019


Due to a lack of quorum The GLEA business meeting was postponed to  6:30 pm, Thursday October 24, 2019, Room 108 Lowrey Hall, George Williams College Campus, Williams Bay WI.

Members Present:  L. Lundberg (W. B), D. Pappas (Fontana), J. McMannamy (WB)

Also Present: Ted Peters (director), Guests; D. Malmin , K. Leith, , S.  Holmes, C. Todd, M. Twitty, M. J. Fesenmaier R. and J. Clarke


 Members Absent: J. Lovell (Wal. Twn), Roy White (Linn Twn), D. Skates (LG).


General Business:

No items under general business were acted on. 


Old business:

  • Peters discussed and updated the board on the Phosphorus Initiative and the bacteria stream sampling with  sampling to continue into the summer of 2020.

  • The Big Foot Creek Watershed study was discussed with the last sampling being conducted on Oct 15.  A report will be prepared.  Discussion on the application of a WI Surface water grant to move into Phase II of the project.  No action was taken.

  • Peters reviewed his suggestions for the future of the go fund me site and money raised for the Trinke project.  Not action was taken.

  • Peters gave a s summery of the second Trinke chemical treatment and plans on assessing the efficacy of the treatment.

  • Copies of the summer 2019 public beach testing were distributed to each community’s reps that werer present.

  • Summer 2019 Boat count info was distributed.


New business:


  • L.  Lundberg discussed his effort to document the sediment build-up at the mouth of Southwick Creek.  Discussion followed on similar happenings at the mouths and outlets of other streams within the watershed and the impacts of the season’s heavy rains.

  • Peters would like to conduct another lake-wide PI aquatic plant survey  during 2020.  NO action was taken.

  • Discussion on Clean Boats and Clean Waters grant, a GLEA resolution to apply and support letters by the communities.  No action was taken.

  • Peters explain the interest by homeowner groups to have their private beaches tested and how it could be incorporated into our present public beach testing program and little cost.  All cost would be billed to beach owners.

  • A copy of the GLEA budget was distributed.  No action taken.


Due to the need to have several of the above items acted on to move forward in a timely manner, a GLEA board meeting was set for 6:30 pm in Rm. 108 Lowery Hall on Thursday Oct 24, 2019.  YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED AS several items need immediate action.
