CD3 Report July 30-August 6, 2021
The CD3 is currently stationed at Linn Pier to the west of the parking stalls, it is accessible for those who are either prepping their boats to enter the lake, or for those who are just leaving.
Throughout the past week, there was thought to have been a problem with the electrical counting system on the CD3, as no data was reported for more than 12 hours. After manually tampering with the unit with no results, a call to the company was made and the owner explained that this is normal. The reason being is to save on data, where the uses are sent to the “cloud”, where they are stored until they can be sent to the computer all at once rather than in individual uses. But the reason for over 12 hours of waiting for the data to be sent to the computer, was that there wasn’t a strong enough data connection for the internal Wi-Fi to work. The unit waited until there was a strong enough connection to send the data from the cloud to the online database.
After seeing how the daily resets effected the overall totals in the first rotation report, all the automatic resets will be removed from this report forward.
For this week’s popular times, there have been fewer morning uses, and more late evening uses, with the popular time being between 6:30pm-10:30pm.
The GLEA will move the CD3 on Wednesday August 11 to the Fontana Launch, where it will be stationed at the north of the boat launch by the boat prep area.
