A brief discussion followed on how to best approach a review of the Uniform Agreement. Peters gave a brief history of the Agreement including past changes. He had sent out the original agreement (1975) and the amended version (2003). He also addressed the question of the relationship between the GLEA and the Linn Sanitary District. He explained that as the GLEA Director and Linn Sanitary District President, it has made for a unique opportunity for the two groups to work together for the betterment of Geneva lake. Sanitary waste management is a vital component of lake management. Peters was asked to find out how much change can take place to the Uniform Agreement before it needs to be re-signed. Peters was asked to post the Uniform Agreement on the GLEA’ s web page.
Peters’ resignation letter was discussed noting the actual date of resignation will be June 30, 2021. It was stressed that there needs to be an effort to find a replacement ASAP. In that context, the committee decided to call a special meeting of the whole GLEA board to hire a search team to initiate a search for Peters’ replacement. The full board meeting would be at 6:00 pm on April 28, 2021 at the City of Lake Geneva’s in a virtual GoToMeeting and an in-person meeting with masks and distancing. The committee meeting will follow immediately after the full meeting.
